There is nothing good about Softscape. Believe what you hear and read. If you see good comments from employees that is because they were asked to post them and some did because they were afraid to lose their jobs if they didn't. Look at the dates. They are all within days of each other.

All the negative comments are sad, but true. I wonder if the positive comments were written by their marketing department...it appears so. If you go and work there, I guarantee it...you will regret it.

Positive environment
posted

I have been at Softscape for a while now and have experienced a positive and creative environment. Maybe that's because I'm creative and they have embraced many of my ideas. I have heard of past employees that left angry, but the people here or smart and very positive. Someone wanted to move abroad and the company not only supported it, but promoted them and helped them settle in to their new location. I think that's a very positive environment.

Not even worth 1 Star

Evilscape is the virus you don't want handling your company's or agency's information. It would be interesting to see what connections they had with Gov. Rowland's administration to get the contract in Connecticut. Amazingly, Terry Borjeson, former Connecticut Judicial Branch Court Support Services Administrator, is no longer with Softscape. Wonder what happened there.

This is a horrible company. The family that runs it hasn't realized that "Wall Street" was a movie and that the philosophy of Gordon Gecko can't be advantageously applied to the Human Capital Management world. They do not properly heat in the winter and they do not properly cool in the summer. A portion of the organization was forced to take 75% reduction in pay during the last pay period of the year 2008 (Merry Christmas). This put some of the more...

Horrible company

Do NOT go to work here. They seem to hate their employees -- so not understandable -- being an HR company. I have never worked for such a terrible company.
The heat is not on in the building. We are freezing. Also you cannot get a couple hours off to go to a personal appointment without taking official time off. The owners don't come in until late in the day and they are never available to discuss anything. The pre-sales engineers tell employees more... -
I couldn't wait to leave Softscape

I've been reading these reviews and boy, there seems to be only two ends of the spectrum described here. Unfortunately, only one end is true. I was one of the lucky people who quit on their own and didn't get fired. But, I saw so many friends at Softscape get the axe that I couldn't wait to get out of there. If they paid me $100,000+ to come back, I wouldn't.

My Point of View

Hello Reader,
First things first, I'd like to get the formalities out of the way. My name is Igor and I'm currently an Engineering Manager at Softscape. I want to share some of my opinions and experiences at Softscape so that potential employees get another point of view. As you can tell, I'm not doing this anonymously since I feel like I shouldn't be writing anything here if I'm ashamed or afraid to put my name on it. Reading through the existing more... -

I'm not sure where the negative posts have come from because I've been working at Softscape for a year now and it's a great place to work. Softscape Apex is a great product because it helps companies hire, reward, develop and retain skilled employees. In addition, it's been a wonderful opportunity to work with a talented international staff and the owners of the company are supportive and generous (not "greedy") -- to goal-oriented employees. Great more...

A great place to work and a great career opp

After reading some of the postings on here about Softscape I am puzzled. The postings are either by the competition or someone just wanting attention.
I have been with Softscape for 2 years and have never loved a job or a company as much as I love Softscape. They give you a lot of freedom to do your job and to be creative! There is challenge, sure, but I have been able to do things I always wanted to do. Thats what Softscape offers, an opportunity to show more... -

The good comments written about this company on the web are probably written by the owners. What a horrible place to work. The turnover was huge, the stress was huge, and they benefits were the worst of any job I ever had. I am glad to say that I am much happier now that I left and work for a good company. The comments about law suits are true and the company is getting sued by former clients.

WOW! You really gotta wonder how and why this place exists. A privately run cornerstore with the strategic intent of Fuzzy Bear. What a shame they have the potential but the EGO lives on long and strong for all to suffer continuous mental aggravation.
There is a following now known as the "Softescapees" as so many people have been forced to leave or unethically terminated and all have had bad experiences.
This Horror Movie cannot go on for long more... -

I was there for 2 years and in that time, more than half of the people that I know left the company. With attrition rates reaching exponential levels, I was always skeptical when the CEO would post messages and boast about how profitable the company is. I know the legal department has been pretty busy lately as well. They are hiring some talented lawyers from Harvard...wonder why? A few more lawsuits on the way may make for not so profitable times. That being more...

Greed is the only word I can use to describe the owners here. They chronically overcharge, understaff, and mismanage clients, then spin the problems as the work of a few bad apples. The turnover is horrific, and there are few who've been around long enough to know any client from initiation to launch.
All the clients know that the CEO is full of it, but he's such a good salesman you find yourself admiring his ability to bullshit his way out of things. After a more... -

I am a developer at Softscape and do not agree with the comments posted. Actually the guy who wrote the code is brilliant, best developer I have ever worked with. Additionally, since I have been there, no developer was ever fired and only 2 left the organization to go to other startups.
Whoever wrote the comment was not a developer and does not know how we do translation, some of his facts are wrong. It is too bad the guy has such an attitude - obviously more... -
The worst job I've ever had

Softscape was my first 'real' (not part-time) job after college. It was probably the worst job I've ever had. The pay was poor. There were no perks. The hours were long and the environment was drab and flourescently lit.
This should be enough for anybody: the CTO was the President's son, and the CEO's brother. He was also the worst programmer I've ever seen, and I had a gig tutoring freshman and sophomores in intro CS courses all through college. To give more...
