  • 1.0 Will the spam masters re-emerge? posted by HiTekViktym on April 01, 2008

Well, this place is still pathetic, and I wish there was a reasonable employer in Kitsap County. Sadly, their isn't. Yes, you can do something that resembles programming here. No, you will never learn the right way to do anything- except keep your back against the wall. Products are so bad, nobody here is willing to use their real name- even those who claim to LOVE the firm.

Ancient technology- tons of "Open Source" garbage everywhere. None of it more...

  • 3.0 High tech in Kitsap County? posted by mikeschmidt on April 25, 2007

I have read with interest the comments posted by everyone here. I am amazed at the incredible difference of opinions all about the same place. I have lived in Kitsap county for several years and find it incredible that people will reverse commute 3+ hours a day for a few extra dollars (OK twice as much) but still complain about their employer

eAcceleration has its problems as does most high tech employers that have any management. Most of the former more...

  • 3.0 not so bad as it's cracked up to be posted by JohnQEmployee on March 06, 2007

I'm one of the longer term employees, and have seen all of the ups & downs. Yes, sometimes a bit aimless, sometimes lambasted, but OTOH incredible freedom to grow & learn & find out where you fit, and most of all to make a difference, either as an entry employee or longer term. Many of the management issues have been due to bad choices in hiring certain now ex-employees, most hired by other ex-emplyees. People who gripe about the pay obviously more...

  • 3.0 Ch-ch-ch-changes. posted by SonOfLou on March 05, 2007

A lot of buzz is going on around eAcceleration recently, and there are valid points to both sides of the buzz "coin".

However, from my view as a long-time employee in a department that deals with code and/or development:

    1. I have a crazy-short commute,
    2. I have extremely flexible hours,
    3. I get paid well within the industry standard for my position/seniority in the industry,
    4. I am able to afford a nice house and car(s) for my family,
    5. The more...

  • 1.0 Over all a bad place to work posted on March 04, 2007

Over all Eacceleration is a bad place to work. I have worked with equally worse, but also far better places. E is not with out some merits. It is a short commute if you live in kitsap, hours were flexible, some times.

When I first started at E the only really bad thing was the pay. People over all were friendly, and even though there was some weirdness it was pretty nice. But as I got to know upper management I found out the place was kind of a waste more...

  • 1.0 Not for the squeamish posted on March 04, 2007

Ok, so some of the folks that worked there when I did were talented, awesome, and fun.
I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy however.
While the rank and file are decent folks, upper management is ... lacking.
And I quote, "The sacrificial firing is good for the company"
And the owner placed that guy in charge.
NEGATIVE stars awarded for ethical conduct.
If you are fresh out of school, can deal with this attitude for two years
    then more...

  • 3.0 First two commentators were fired for a reason... posted by GarbageCollector on March 02, 2007

I'll get to my comments on this employer in a bit, but first want to comment on a couple of the other comments.

If the first two commentators are who I think they are, they were (justifiably) fired by the current management, and have been going around to various forums since then bad-mouthing said management. Let's call them programmer X and programmer Y.

I and my coworkers have spent the last couple of years vastly improving the reliability and performance more...

  • 3.0 No wasted time commuting, more time with family posted on March 02, 2007

Good: Flexible hours, easy commute, intelligent and friendly people to work with
Bad: Periodically unstable environment, no long term pension plans to compete with the abundance of local government jobs that include long term perks like pension plans and 401k investment matching.

  • 4.0 Best place I ever worked. posted by poulsbohemian on March 02, 2007

I was hired by eAcceleration straight out of college. Even though I been involved with a number of coding projects in school (CS degree), I found that I learned a lot at eAcceleration. The application development team was great, management was attentive and hands-on when needed, and the experience was exciting and fun. It is awesome to know you are doing something to really help your users (cleaning their viruses and spyware out), and getting to read the more...

Good company to work for. Allows you to learn and advance. Great health benefits!

  • 3.0 Nice place to work, good people to work with. posted on March 02, 2007

I have enjoyed working at eAcceleration for more than 2 years. It is a good work environment with lots of flexibility and opportunity. As a pretty small company, everyone is involved. The emphasis on good code and quick turnaround (we use Scrum) has made for an exciting couple of years. There's a lot of talent here; smart, interesting people; fun, challenging work; and a great location.

  • 1.0 The only employer I would rate as a two-bagger posted on February 26, 2007

Why wear two bags over your head at work? In case the first one breaks, the second will protect you from seeing what true garbage you are foisting on an unsuspecting world. The products are sold on a subscription basis, because people will (apparently) pay < 10 bucks a month for anything- even fecal quality software. If you play enough shell games with the companies web sites (they have over 200 different domains registered) you are able to completely more...

  • 1.0 Stifling environment, abusive upper-management posted on February 11, 2007

An oppressive environment imposed by a tyrannical CTO/upper-management regime. Most definitely the worst job I've ever had. It seems apparent that management viewed all employees purely as nameless resources that are dispenseable and value-less. The oppressive environment shows in the lackluster quality of the product.

Management itself tends towards has-been product ideas and fear-mongering based marketing for it's current offerings. This company also more...
