Slander and salary fixing

A few years ago, I was asked if I could create UML diagrams. I said yes (which was true). On the job there was no UML tool on my machine so there was no automated way to create the diagrams. They let me go and the project mgr sent a letter to my agency stating that I exaggerated my qualifications which was out and out slander.
I protested to the HR dept and they've black-balled me since based on the lie of their own P.M. Legal experts say such practice is more... -
