rating for Lawson Software

2.0 Good place - just not too exciting posted by bullfeathers on January 04, 2007

I worked at Lawson for quite a number of years, and was well treated and the work was good. They make a ERP system just for hospitals and it does the job excpetionally well.

The only downside I see working at Lawson is that the code base is a little tired and will not move on. It would be great if they could just have a different development shop (away from the current shop) so the system could be moved onto more modern technologies and data structures.

I have been in the business for quite sometime, but I do not want to sit with the same technologoes I started with.

I can feel for the people at Lawson, as they do have a decent installed base so it is hard to move when you have a lot of customers and support systems setup around technologies that have been around for probably too long.

I think the other posters are being a too harsh - it is a decent place to be. It is an excellent place to be if you want to leanr the hospital business - I really respect and admire their industry knowledge.
