rating for Freewebs, Inc

3.0 Deadline oriented open environment posted by H3shT4b1e on September 12, 2008

Working for Freewebs can be an amazing experience. They treat their developers well, lunch is catered three times a week, and you've got a lot of freedom in how you get your work done. The server environment is Java-based, and they've got a lot of great senior level developers who can help you hit the ground running on your first day.

It's startup-like in that the company is small, and you interact with the top management on a daily basis, which is actually a refreshing change. Management keeps a very "open-door" policy.

Product and Marketing (specifically Product) groups create a very deadline-oriented feel, and dealing with them from a development standpoint can be one of the most tedious parts of working at Freewebs.

User support and quality assurance is an area where more work is needed. Documentation for the users gets outdated quickly, and the support team is small. The quality assurance team doesn't seem to really have any qualifications for doing what they're doing.
