Cold war mentality between departments. Managers are yes-men to upper management causing crazy deadlines which lead to bad decisions (or non-decisions). Of course the "rock star" will prevail in the upper management eyes (ie delivering projects with minutes to spare and then go on vacation the next day). After the last lay-off (nuked off sales team, lost some players), changing direction again (i wonder how many name can you use for the same thing) as now DRM is slowly disappearing (hence the slow death)
